- Yes. Trace is a script tag — same idea everywhere. The Trace app includes copy-paste snippets for plain HTML, React/Vite, Next.js App Router, Next.js Pages, WordPress, Webflow, Framer, and Shopify.
- You paste one snippet once. If you have added Google Analytics or a chat widget before, you can install Trace. The desktop app walks you through the rest.
- Trace captures anonymous interaction coordinates — clicks, scrolls, and hovers — not personal profiles. No marketing cookies, no cross-site tracking. Many sites will not need a cookie banner for this.
- Yes. Add as many domains as you want. Each site gets its own heatmap and install snippet in the app.
- Same problem space, different philosophy. Hotjar and Clarity are web dashboards with subscriptions and session replay. Trace is a desktop app you own — focused on heatmaps, scroll depth, and attention. No monthly fee.
